We were in town visiting the grandchildren My wife and I live in Florida I fish the east and west coast of Florida and through the Bahamas I've seen allot of fish markets Franks is terrific I went to get prawns for a boil to add to my lobster tails I was greeted by a friendly woman who showed me their offerings Sea bass, scallops, oysters, salmon, crab legs and crab claws. They have everything fresh I don't know how the poor reviews came about They are terrific
This Florida girl is happy! My first visit, I bought some Chilean Sea Bass and some oysters... Franks has the freshest seafood I've had in a long time. The fish melted like butter in my mouth and the oysters were plump, juicy, briny, and utterly delicious. This place is a hidden gem!
Julie is the bomb dude. She's so helpful and she always shows you how to pick out the best product for what you're making. They have so many fresh and frozen options and honestly I don't think I've found a better seafood place in Ohio.
It was nice to see all the fish products they have for sale, but the employee sold me breaded calamari and said I can cook it in the oven, which I can't. Need a refund
We finally made it to Frank's. It's an hour drive and we had our fingers crossed. The place is fantastic! We ordered a walleye platter and a salmon salad. They were done to perfection. Just use the tiniest bit of sauce on the walleye because it is that good! The gumbo is a must if you go here. The clam chowder had a little bit of raw flour flavor but was good overall. The fries are like state fair fries, and some Greek kitchens cook fries this way. Killer with a little malt vinegar. It seem like we will be putting a few more miles on our cars.
Really good and filling meals to start the day at the cooked seafood store! And the lady behind the counter was real nice (Thank you!) We got the catfish and cod fish and fry (wife switched to rice), as you can see in the photos, these are pretty hearty servings. Will definitely come back to try other stuff on the menu.
I went for my first time, and am so glad I made it. I was looking for fresh, frozen sardines and they have them in stock all the time, currently at $10.99 for a 2lb bag. The person working was super nice - I called on the phone before heading over to check if they had the sardines, and they were very helpful, patient, and kind while I was in-store. I took a few pictures of the other fish, so I can get inspired to return and try something new. They have so many different types of fish, and some are even pre-marinaded and ready to be placed on the grill/pan. I'll definitely be going back and if you haven't visited, I would highly recommend you do. Cheers!
